In Bihar, the NDA campaigns for jailed Anant Singh has drawn major attention. Union Minister Lallan Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary led a massive roadshow for the JDU candidate. Anant Singh, contesting from Mokama, is currently lodged in Beur Jail in connection with the Dularchand Yadav murder case.
The roadshow started from Pandarak and ended at Mokama, with hundreds of supporters joining on motorcycles. Lallan Singh urged voters to back Anant Singh, saying his imprisonment would not affect the election. He called the case a “planned conspiracy” and demanded a fair investigation.
The Mokama contest is between two strong contenders—Anant Singh of JDU and Veena Devi, wife of Suraj Bhan Singh, on the RJD ticket. Despite being in jail, Anant Singh’s popularity remains strong among locals.
Reports show Anant Singh owns assets worth ₹26.66 crore in movable property and ₹11.22 crore in immovable property. His wife Neelam Devi also holds assets worth ₹62.68 crore. With high stakes and emotional appeals, the NDA campaigns for jailed Anant Singh have turned Mokama into a key political hotspot this election season.
