MP Pappu Yadav faces a Model Code of Conduct case in Vaishali. Police at Sahadei station filed an FIR after a video showed him giving money to flood victims. The clip went viral as Bihar election campaigns began.
Yadav visited Ganiyari village and gave ₹4,000 each to 80 erosion victims. About 200 families lost homes due to river erosion. Officials later began an inquiry into his act.
He also criticized Chirag Paswan and Nityanand Rai, asking why they ignored their people. “You could have helped these families,” he said.
When asked about the case, Yadav said, “Should I stop helping the poor because of fear of the Election Commission? I will keep helping them.”
This is the first Model Code case in the 2025 Bihar elections. The issue has sparked debate between compassion and election rules.
