The Patna International Hockey Stadium will soon come up in the state capital. The project will make Patna the second city in Bihar with an international-standard hockey ground after Rajgir.
The government has started work on the Patna International Hockey Stadium at the Rajendra Nagar Physical College campus. Officials say the stadium will help Patna host national hockey matches and training camps.
The project will cost around ₹8.44 crore. Engineers are building the ground as per international hockey standards. The field will measure about 99 metres long and 60 metres wide.
The stadium will get a high-quality blue Astroturf imported from the Netherlands. Authorities will also install floodlights and a sprinkler system. Players will get modern dressing rooms and practice facilities.
The new stadium will strengthen sports infrastructure in Bihar. It will also give young hockey players better opportunities to train and compete.
