PM Modi Calls End to TMC Jungle Raj in West Bengal

PM Modi West Bengal political pitch intensified on Saturday as the Prime Minister urged voters to end the Trinamool Congress “jungle raj”. He appealed for a BJP-led double-engine government ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.

Modi addressed a rally in Taherpur over the phone after poor visibility stopped his helicopter from landing. He said Bihar had rejected jungle raj and set a political example for Bengal. He added that Bengal must now follow the same path.

The Prime Minister accused the TMC of blocking development through corruption and appeasement politics. He said funds, intent, and schemes were available, but projects remained stalled due to cuts and commissions. He questioned why Bengal’s progress was being held back.

Modi also targeted the TMC over its opposition to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He alleged the ruling party opposed the exercise to protect infiltrators. He claimed infiltration had become a major threat with political patronage.

Drawing a comparison with Tripura, Modi said BJP governance had transformed the state after years of Left rule. He urged Bengal voters to give the BJP a similar opportunity.

Addressing the Matua community, Modi praised Harichand Thakur and Guruchand Thakur for their social reform legacy. He ended by invoking Vande Mataram as a call for nation-building and a developed India.
