New Delhi: Ahead of next year’s West Bengal Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold an important meeting with all BJP MPs from the state on Wednesday in Parliament. According to sources, the discussion will focus on political strategy and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in 12 states and Union Territories, including West Bengal. The SIR review is scheduled for December 9.
With political activities accelerating across the state, the BJP is sharpening its organisational groundwork. The meeting with the Prime Minister is seen as a key step toward aligning MPs on electoral priorities and addressing issues related to voter list verification under SIR.
Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that an all-party meeting chaired by the Lok Sabha Speaker had decided that the House would discuss the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram on December 8 and take up election reforms on December 9.
The BJP views these discussions as essential in shaping its campaign narrative and strengthening coordination ahead of the high-stakes 2026 Assembly elections in West Bengal.
