Police evict Pathanmajra family as authorities deployed a heavy police force on Wednesday to clear government accommodation linked to AAP MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra in Patiala. The action took place at Kothi No. 9-C on Passey Road amid tight security arrangements.
Senior officials confirmed that police teams reached the premises early in the day. Authorities stationed women police personnel at the site after learning that Pathanmajra’s wife remained inside the government residence. Officials said the deployment aimed to prevent any law-and-order situation during the eviction process.
Police also brought vehicles to remove furniture and household belongings from the premises. Officers supervised the operation closely while civic staff prepared to take possession of the government property once the eviction concluded.
Police evict Pathanmajra family following prolonged non-vacation of the accommodation, officials said. Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, an Aam Aadmi Party legislator, reportedly left India and moved to Australia after authorities registered a criminal case against him.
Sources said the eviction followed repeated notices issued by the administration. The government accommodation had remained occupied despite the MLA’s absence from the country.
Officials stated that the process followed legal procedures and standard eviction norms. No untoward incident occurred during the operation.
