The Election Commission has announced the full schedule for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar confirmed that voting will be held in phases, considering the Chhath festival dates. The current assembly term ends on November 16, 2025, so elections will be completed before that.
Seventeen new changes have been introduced this time, including stronger action against fake news, webcasting at every polling station, and improved EVMs with candidate photos in color. A digital center combining 40 ECI apps has also been launched for easy access to election services.
Security forces will patrol sensitive areas, and special arrangements will be made for senior citizens and voters with disabilities. The CEC stated that the goal is a transparent and smooth election process across Bihar.
