On September 29, 2025, President Droupadi Murmu stressed the importance of embracing advanced technological skills for India’s growth. Speaking to probationers of the Indian Skill Development Service (ISDS) at Rashtrapati Bhavan, she said skill and knowledge are the true engines of economic growth and social progress.
President Murmu said, “As India advances on its path of technology-driven growth, it is imperative that our youth embrace and adapt to advanced technological skills.” She added that countries with highly skilled workforces respond better to global challenges and seize emerging opportunities. She urged probationers to contribute towards making India the “Skill Capital of the World.”
Addressing probationers of the Indian Statistical Service, she highlighted the importance of data in governance. “Sound policy formulation depends on accurate statistical analysis,” she said. She emphasised that in today’s data-driven world, statistics play a key role in shaping effective decisions and improving governance transparency.
While speaking to the Central Engineering Service probationers, she stressed engineers’ role in advancing technology and infrastructure. “With the government’s focus on large-scale projects, engineers must prepare to meet evolving challenges while ensuring sustainability,” she said.
President Murmu urged all probationers to work with dedication and integrity for the progress of disadvantaged communities. “Your choices and commitment will help India become more prosperous, resilient, and inclusive,” she said. She concluded by expressing confidence in their role in shaping India’s future.
