Suraj Bhan Singh Bihar politics became a topic of speculation after reports claimed he might join RJD. The Mokama leader, however, called these reports false. Suraj Bhan, the parliamentary board chief of RLJP, said he remains loyal to Ram Vilas Paswan’s legacy. During a meeting in Patna, RLJP chief Pashupati Paras discussed alliances but rejected RJD’s offer of four seats. Paras is now exploring options with BSP and AIMIM.
At a press conference, Paras said the final decision on joining the Grand Alliance or other parties will be made soon. Suraj Bhan Singh Bihar politics discussions also mentioned the possibility of his wife, former MP Veena Devi, contesting from Mokama. However, he clarified that these were just rumours. Suraj Bhan once won the Mokama seat as an independent in 2000, defeating Anant Singh’s brother.
If he had joined RJD, the Mokama seat could have witnessed a major political clash. For now, RLJP stands firm with Paras.
