Tej Pratap Yadav membership drive has created a fresh twist in Bihar politics. After being removed from the Lalu family and the RJD, Tej Pratap formed the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD). Now he wants to grow his new party fast. The Tej Pratap Yadav membership drive aims to pull in young workers and old RJD supporters.
Tej Pratap announced the campaign on Thursday through a social media post. The drive will start on Friday, December 12th, at 1 pm, from his official residence at 26 M Strand Road. He said the Maha Membership Campaign (2025–28) will give a new direction to Bihar. He urged people to join JJD in large numbers and called the campaign an extension of both the family’s legacy and an ideological movement.
Tensions between Tej Pratap and Tejashwi Yadav remain sharp. In the 2025 elections, both brothers supported rival candidates. Even though Tej Pratap lost, he stayed active. If JJD grows, it will hurt the RJD’s core vote base. Tej Pratap has openly said that returning to the RJD is worse than death.
His strong online following, his public activities, and occasional support for the NDA have kept him in the news. The NDA government even boosted his security.
