A Telangana heatwave alert has been issued as temperatures are expected to rise sharply across the state over the next five days. Weather officials warned that intense heat and hot winds may affect several districts, causing discomfort for residents.
Under the Telangana heatwave alert, the meteorological department said temperatures could reach around 45°C in districts such as Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, Jagtial, and Mancherial. Red alerts have been issued in these areas due to the risk of severe heat conditions.
Authorities also placed around 16 districts under an orange alert, where temperatures may range between 41°C and 44°C. Officials advised people to avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours and stay hydrated.
The heatwave is likely to continue for several days. Health experts recommend drinking plenty of water, wearing light clothing, and limiting outdoor activities to reduce heat-related health risks.
