Telangana to Activate Nine Critical Care Blocks to Strengthen Emergency Healthcare
The Telangana government is preparing to operationalise nine Critical Care Blocks across the State to strengthen emergency healthcare services. The move aims to reduce the number of patients being referred to hospitals in Hyderabad for critical treatment.
These Critical Care Blocks have been established in district and area hospitals to provide advanced medical facilities, including intensive care units, emergency services, and specialised treatment. Once operational, they are expected to handle serious medical cases locally, improving timely access to life-saving care.
Health officials said that trained doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff are being deployed, and necessary medical equipment is being installed. The initiative is part of the State’s efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and ensure equitable access to quality treatment.
By strengthening district-level hospitals, the government hopes to ease the burden on Hyderabad’s major hospitals and provide faster, more efficient emergency care to patients closer to their homes.
