Tenali town is witnessing a disturbing trend, with lone women becoming soft targets for criminals. Just two months ago, miscreants brutally murdered elderly women on Parimi Road and fled with their jewellery. Before that memory could fade, another similar attack took place on Tuesday at Attota.
In the latest case, assailants mercilessly attacked an elderly woman and snatched away her gold ornaments. Locals say these repeated crimes are spreading fear among women, especially those who stay alone. Families are worried about the safety of their elders, while residents are urging the police to act swiftly.
With back-to-back incidents, public anger is rising. Citizens demand stronger patrolling, CCTV monitoring, and quick arrests to restore confidence. The attacks have not only caused physical harm but also deep psychological distress. Many women are now avoiding stepping out alone, fearing similar assaults.
Authorities are under pressure to crack down on such crimes and provide immediate reassurance to the public. Until then, Tenali’s lone women remain in a state of fear and uncertainty.
