The seat-sharing talks in the Bihar Grand Alliance have finally settled. Mukesh Sahni’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) will contest 15 seats in the upcoming Bihar elections. Mukesh Sahni Bihar elections gained focus as he confirmed his own candidature from the Gauda Bauram seat in Darbhanga district.
After several rounds of discussions, the Grand Alliance, including RJD and Congress, agreed on this formula. RJD leaders Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi assured Sahni of compensation with Rajya Sabha and MLC positions. VIP state president Bal Govind Bind will contest from Bhabua.
Earlier, the alliance talks were delayed as Mukesh Sahni Bihar elections strategy demanded more seats. Intervention by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi helped end the dispute. Sahni will file his nomination on Friday, the last date for the first phase.
In 2020, VIP’s candidate Swarna Singh had won from Gauda Bauram but later joined BJP. This time, BJP fielded Sujit Kumar Singh for the same seat.
