The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Accident has shocked Andhra Pradesh. Eight workers died after a molten metal ladle exploded inside the steel plant. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed grief over the tragedy and visited injured workers in hospitals.
Later, he inspected the accident site and reviewed the situation with officials. He announced that the government would pay all medical expenses for the injured workers.
Pawan Kalyan also formed a three-member committee to investigate the incident. The committee will identify the cause of the accident and submit its report soon.
He said officials are checking whether management negligence played any role in the tragedy. He also promised a detailed review of safety audits, worker complaints, and safety violations.
The Deputy CM announced ₹25 lakh for each deceased worker’s family. Families of regular employees will receive ₹1.72 crore. The family of a contract worker will receive ₹45.75 lakh.
