Gostani River Pollution: Pawan Kalyan Orders Strict Action Against Industries

Pawan Kalyan reviewing Gostani River pollution and discussing action against industries

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed serious concern over the growing pollution in the Gostani River. During a review meeting with the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, he said the Gostani River pollution has reached alarming levels and requires urgent action.

Officials informed him that the river’s Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) level touched 15 mg/l, which is nearly five times above the safe limit. The Deputy CM blamed industries for releasing untreated chemical waste and sewage directly into the river. He warned that strict action would follow against those responsible.

Pawan Kalyan also announced the use of drones and surveillance cameras to monitor industrial pollution near the river. He asked officials to improve environmental protection measures and ensure clean water for nearby villages.

The government also plans to improve air quality in 13 Andhra Pradesh cities under the National Clean Air Programme.
