A.P. Achieves Record Paddy Procurement, Says Civil Supplies Minister

A.P. achieves record paddy procurement as farmers deliver harvest at procurement centre

A.P. achieves record paddy procurement this crop season, marking a major milestone for farmers and the State’s food supply system. Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar announced the achievement, calling it the result of smooth operations and strong coordination at every level.

He said A.P. achieves record paddy procurement because collection centres worked efficiently and provided timely support to farmers. So far, 1,71,651 metric tonnes of paddy have already been dispatched to the Food Corporation of India (FCI).

The remaining stock is under processing and will be moved soon. The Minister praised officials for maintaining transparent weighing systems and ensuring quick payments without delays.

Decentralised procurement centres played a key role this season. Farmers avoided long travel and saved time, which reduced stress during peak harvest days.

Officials said favourable weather and higher yields also supported the record numbers. The State is coordinating closely with FCI to speed up lifting and avoid storage problems.

Farmers welcomed the arrangements and said timely procurement helped them avoid distress sales. The Minister assured continued support through better infrastructure and stronger supply-chain management in the coming seasons.
