A major electricity problem has hit villagers after the Banka Shambhuganj transformer burned in the farming area. The damaged transformer has stopped the power supply used for irrigation and daily needs. Farmers say the issue has continued for weeks, creating serious trouble during the crop season.
The Banka Shambhuganj transformer burned, and its coil reportedly got damaged. Because of this, farmers cannot run their irrigation pumps. Many farmers had installed borewells with their own money to water their fields, but the power outage has made the system useless.
Local farmers said irrigation for Rabi crops now depends completely on electricity. Without power, crops may dry up and production may fall. They also said canals and other traditional water sources are no longer usable due to encroachment.
Villagers said they have complained several times to the electricity department and demanded a quick replacement of the damaged transformer. Farmers warned that if officials delay the repair, crops could suffer heavy losses in the coming weeks.
