India Should Push for S-500, says Bihar-born Russian MLA Abhay Singh during President Vladimir Putin’s visit to New Delhi. Singh, who grew up in Patna before moving to Russia for medical studies, urged New Delhi to take the next step in defence cooperation. He repeated that India Should Push for S-500 because it is Russia’s most advanced missile system.
Putin’s India visit aims to strengthen strategic and economic ties. He will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attend a ceremonial welcome, and join the 23rd India-Russia Summit. Both nations plan to discuss defence, trade protection, and cooperation in small modular reactors.
Singh praised the S-400 system India already uses but said the S-500 is far superior and available only in Russia. If Russia approves, India could become the first country to acquire it. He also highlighted the importance of the Sukhoi-57 fighter jet.
Abhay Singh’s journey from Patna to Russian politics shows his strong India connection. He believes Russia needs strong leadership and has won elections twice from the Kursk region. Singh said Putin’s visit after four years will boost long-term partnership between both countries.
