Jalandhar Police Encounter Injures two wanted accused during a late-night operation near Nurpur village. Police launched the action after receiving intelligence about the movement of suspected gang members.

As police teams moved to arrest the suspects, the accused allegedly opened fire without warning. Officers responded swiftly, leading to a brief gunfight. Around 10 to 11 rounds were exchanged during the encounter.

Both accused suffered gunshot injuries and fell to the ground. Police teams overpowered them and secured the area. Officers rushed the injured men to the civil hospital, where doctors stated their condition is stable.

Investigators identified the suspects as associates of the Dadewala and Harry gangs. These gangs have links to several criminal cases across the region. Police officials said they had asked the accused to surrender, but the suspects chose to fire instead.

During the search, police recovered two illegal pistols from their possession. Initial findings suggest the duo played a role in the Batala trader firing case. That incident triggered a statewide alert and intensified police surveillance.

Senior officers said the operation reflects zero tolerance toward armed crime. Police are now questioning the accused to trace other gang members. Further investigation continues to uncover the full network and prevent future violence.
