Swaraj Kaushal Tribute: Mizoram Will Always Remember His Role in Peace

RJD MP Manoj Jha offered a heartfelt Swaraj Kaushal tribute, remembering the senior advocate and former Mizoram Governor after his passing at 71. He said the Swaraj Kaushal tribute is not only about mourning him but also honouring the remarkable work he did for Mizoram and the nation.

Swaraj Kaushal served as a Supreme Court lawyer, Rajya Sabha MP, and Governor of Mizoram. He became the youngest person to hold the post of Governor. His role in helping Mizoram achieve peace was meaningful and deeply respected in the Northeast.

Manoj Jha wrote that Kaushal’s contribution was historic, filled with empathy and commitment. He added that Mizoram would never forget the human touch Kaushal brought during a sensitive time. Jha also prayed for strength for Kaushal’s family.

Swaraj Kaushal was born on July 12, 1952. He studied at Delhi University and Punjab University before starting his law career. He married Sushma Swaraj in 1975. She later became India’s External Affairs Minister and a respected national leader. Their daughter, Bansuri Swaraj, is now a BJP MP from Delhi.
