The government also increased protection for JD(U) leader Shravan Kumar. He will now receive Y-Plus security along with an escort facility.

At the same time, authorities reduced the security of BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. His security moved from Z-Plus to Z category.

Officials reviewed the security arrangements of several leaders in Bihar after recent political changes in the state government.

Under the new arrangement, Z Category Security for Bihar Deputy CMs will include around 22 security personnel. The team will consist of police officers and commandos from central forces such as Central Reserve Police Force and Indo-Tibetan Border Police. The security cover will also include escort vehicles, residential protection, and security while traveling.

Both leaders are senior members of Janata Dal (United) and currently serve as deputy chief ministers in the government led by Samrat Choudhary. Earlier, some deputy CMs had received Z Plus security, which is a higher level of protection.

The current government formed after Nitish Kumar stepped down from the chief minister’s post. For now, the chief minister and the two deputy CMs are managing the administration until the cabinet expands next month.
