Delhi CM Rekha Gupta launches three new courses in government schools to give students future-ready skills and open wider career opportunities. The initiative reflects the government’s focus on modernizing education and addressing the needs of a changing economy.
At the launch event, Gupta said that education should not stop at textbooks. She explained that schools must prepare children for real-world challenges. The three new courses will cover digital innovation, environmental sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Each has been designed to equip students with practical knowledge beyond traditional learning.
The digital innovation course will teach coding, robotics, and basics of artificial intelligence. Officials said students will learn how technology drives change in every field, from healthcare to business. The environmental sustainability course will focus on climate awareness, waste management, and green practices. This aims to create a generation more conscious about the planet. The entrepreneurship course will train students to think creatively, develop business ideas, and understand financial basics.
Rekha Gupta stressed that the rollout will begin in the upcoming academic year across all Delhi government schools. She assured that specially trained teachers and modern classrooms will support the new learning process.
Parents and education experts welcomed the move, noting that these courses could boost confidence and employability. Many said that early exposure to coding and entrepreneurship will give Delhi students an edge over others.
With this decision, Gupta reaffirmed her commitment to making Delhi’s public education system a model for the country. By focusing on skills that matter for the future, she hopes to bridge the gap between education and employment.
