At the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), US President Donald Trump claimed he ended seven long-running wars in just seven months. Speaking at the 80th UNGA session, he listed conflicts between Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Thailand and Cambodia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Serbia and Kosovo.
Trump said these wars had lasted decades, with some running for 31 to 36 years, causing countless deaths. He added that no other leader has done anything similar. He also criticized the UN, calling it ineffective, and said, “Empty words don’t solve wars.”
Since May, Trump has repeatedly claimed that the US mediated a “full and immediate” ceasefire between India and Pakistan. India denied this, stating the ceasefire resulted from direct talks between their militaries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified in Parliament that no foreign leader asked India to halt Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar supported India’s position, confirming that India never agreed to third-party mediation. He said both countries prefer resolving issues bilaterally.
