Gadkari Unveils Massive Expressway Project Spanning 25 Corridors
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that India is currently constructing 25 greenfield expressways spanning over 10,000 kilometers, as part of a major infrastructure initiative aimed at boosting connectivity and economic development. With an estimated investment of ₹6 lakh crore, these projects are expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve logistics efficiency, and support regional growth.
Gadkari emphasized that these expressways are being built using the latest technologies and sustainable practices. The projects include key corridors such as the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway, and Bengaluru-Vijayawada Expressway, among others.
This infrastructure push aligns with the government’s vision to create a world-class highway network, encourage industrial development along these routes, and generate employment. Once completed, the expressways are expected to play a pivotal role in transforming India’s road transport landscape and enhancing competitiveness in both domestic and export markets.
