Six terrorists were killed after a five-hour gun battle at a police training school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The attack started when militants drove an explosives-laden truck into the main gate of the Ratta Kulachi Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan district, triggering a massive explosion.
Terrorists wearing various uniforms stormed the compound, firing indiscriminately and throwing hand grenades. Police personnel quickly retaliated and surrounded the attackers. Three terrorists were neutralized initially, and three more were killed during a late-night clearance operation.
Unfortunately, seven police personnel lost their lives, and 13 others were injured. Officials confirmed that all trainee recruits and staff were safely evacuated to secure locations. The operation involved SSG commandos, Al-Burq Force, Elite Force, and local police.
DPO Sahibzada Sajjad Ahmed and RPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar personally supervised the operation on-site. Security forces recovered suicide vests, explosives, modern weapons, and ammunition from the terrorists. Around 200 trainees, instructors, and staff were present during the attack.
Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed confirmed the area is now fully cleared. He praised the leadership of the RPO and DPO, paid tribute to the martyrs, and announced rewards for the officers and personnel involved in the mission.
