Prashant Kishor Challenges Samrat Chaudhary, Hails Record Voter Turnout

Prashant Kishor

Amid the heated Bihar election campaign, Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor launched a sharp attack on Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Friday. He questioned Chaudhary’s confidence in winning his own seat, Tarapur, despite holding rallies for senior BJP leaders like Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh. Kishor remarked that Chaudhary should focus on his own performance instead of campaigning for others.

Commenting on the rising voter turnout, Kishor said the record participation reflects the public’s growing desire for change. “More than 60% of people want transformation, and Jan Suraj is giving them that choice,” he stated. He also highlighted the role of migrant workers who stayed back after Chhath as a crucial factor in this election.

Expressing optimism, Kishor said Bihar will witness history on November 14 when voters decide the state’s future. According to the Election Commission, Bihar recorded its highest-ever voter turnout of 64.66% in the first phase held on November 6. Around 37.5 million voters cast their ballots across 121 constituencies — the highest participation since 1951. The Commission added that this turnout surpasses all previous Assembly and Lok Sabha records, showcasing voters’ faith in democracy.
