The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) cadres held a massive rally in Tirupati on Wednesday. They protested the State government’s plan to develop medical colleges under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Former Deputy Mayor and constituency in-charge Bhumana Abhinay Reddy led the rally, calling the move an “outright privatisation” of public healthcare.
Hundreds of supporters joined the march, wearing blue, white, and green — the colours of YSRCP. The streets of Tirupati echoed with slogans demanding protection for government medical colleges. Protesters urged the State to withdraw its PPP plan immediately.
The YSRCP cadres rally against medical college privatisation reflected growing anger over limited access to affordable medical education. Abhinay Reddy said the focus should be on improving existing government colleges, not handing them to private firms.
The rally showed YSRCP’s firm stand that healthcare and education must remain in public hands for the welfare of the people.
