Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Coimbatore on November 19 to address the South India Natural Farming Summit 25. The event, hosted by farmers’ associations in Tamil Nadu, aims to promote sustainable farming practices inspired by the late G. Nammazhvar, a pioneer in organic and natural farming.
The South India Natural Farming Summit 25 will focus on advancing techniques that combine traditional wisdom with modern agricultural innovations. Prime Minister Modi’s participation highlights the government’s commitment to supporting eco-friendly farming methods that ensure soil health, crop diversity, and rural prosperity.
After his inaugural address, the Prime Minister will interact with 50 leading scientists from southern states who specialize in organic and natural farming. The discussion will take place at the CODISSIA Hall in Coimbatore. Together, they will draft strategies and policies to expand natural farming across South India.
The event also aims to encourage farmers to adopt chemical-free cultivation, improve crop resilience, and reduce environmental impact. Leaders from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are expected to attend.
This summit marks an important step in carrying forward G. Nammazhvar’s legacy and integrating natural farming into India’s future agricultural roadmap.
