The Delhi Red Fort blast has sparked a strong and swift reaction from the Assam government. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared that the State will not tolerate any attempt to glorify or justify the attack. His statement came after Assam Police arrested three additional people on Friday (November 14, 2025) for social media posts supporting the explosion. These arrests raised the total number of detained individuals to 20, showing how seriously the State views online encouragement of terrorism.
CM Sarma posted on X (formerly Twitter) that all 20 accused openly supported the terrorists behind the Delhi Red Fort blast, and he warned that more suspects remain under watch. He added that Assam Police will continue to act against anyone who attempts to promote extremist activities on digital platforms. His message reflects the State’s strict zero-tolerance stance.
The incident that triggered these developments took place on Monday (November 10, 2025), when a high-intensity explosion tore through a slow-moving car near the Red Fort Metro Station. The blast killed 12 people and injured several others. The attack shook the nation and raised security concerns across major cities.
Security agencies increased monitoring across social media after several posts surfaced praising the attack. Assam responded quickly by forming digital surveillance teams to identify users supporting terrorism. Officials say the State wants to stop any spread of extremist ideology before it grows.
Residents across Assam also expressed relief, saying strong action protects the region from dangerous influences. Many urged strict punishment for those who purposely destabilise society.
The continuous arrests show that Assam aims to protect national security while sending a clear warning—support for terrorism, whether online or offline, will lead to immediate action.
