Stakeholders Submit Natural Farming Blueprint at South India Summit
At the South India Natural Farming Summit held in Coimbatore, stakeholders presented a comprehensive blueprint to the Prime Minister, outlining strategies to scale up natural farming across the region. The resolution emphasized the need to create model natural farming clusters in every district, showcasing benefits such as improved soil structure, reduced chemical dependency, and stable or even enhanced crop yields.
The blueprint calls for investment in farmer training, soil-health monitoring, and community-based demonstration farms to build confidence among cultivators. It also highlights the importance of promoting native seed varieties, integrating livestock with farming systems, and expanding market support for naturally grown produce.
Participants stressed that natural farming can help address rising input costs, soil degradation, and climate-related stress on agriculture. They urged the government to integrate these recommendations into national policy frameworks, ensuring long-term sustainability and resilience for farming communities across South India.
