Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has intensified his campaign ahead of the December 2, 2025 local body elections, urging voters to exercise what he described as a “Shiv Sena development vote”. Addressing a large gathering in Gondia on Tuesday, Shinde said a vote for Shiv Sena represents development, empowerment, and the end of VIP culture in local governance.
The rally was organised to support Shiv Sena’s candidate Dr. Prashant Katre for the Gondia Municipal Council president post. Shinde highlighted that his government has always prioritised the welfare of women, farmers, and the underprivileged. He reassured voters that the widely popular ‘Ladki Bahin’ Yojana — which provides ₹1,500 per month to women — will not be discontinued despite rumours fueled by the Opposition.
Shinde emphasized that the scheme will be strengthened further with new components aimed at empowering women and promoting self-reliance. He also cited key achievements such as the 50% bus travel concession for women, the Shetkari Sanman Yojana for farmers, and youth skill development initiatives as examples of Shiv Sena’s commitment to inclusive progress.
Promising rapid development for Gondia, Shinde assured residents that funds will not be a challenge. “Our candidates will work to make Gondia free of waste, pollution, and corruption,” he said. He requested voters to bless all 34 Shiv Sena candidates contesting the councillor seats, stating that the party seeks to build transparent and people-centric governance.
With the state gearing up for polling day and results to be announced on December 3, political campaigning has intensified across Maharashtra. Shinde’s strong push for a “Shiv Sena development vote” signals the party’s attempt to consolidate support by positioning development as its core agenda.
