The Cyclone Ditwah Live Tracker shows a worrying rise in casualties as the storm moves closer to India’s southeastern coast. The Cyclone Ditwah Live Tracker also highlights the massive destruction caused in Sri Lanka, where the death toll has reached 123 after the cyclone hit the eastern coast on Friday morning.
IMD officials said the storm continues to move toward Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south Andhra Pradesh. They expect landfall on November 30. Tamil Nadu issued a red alert for four districts and an orange alert for five more. Emergency teams remain on standby across coastal regions.
Sri Lanka faced severe flooding, damaged homes, and disrupted transport networks as the cyclone crossed the island. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences for the lives lost and wished for a quick recovery for affected families.
IMD confirmed that the storm shows no sign of turning into a stronger system. However, they advised residents to stay prepared for heavy rain, strong winds, and possible flooding in low-lying areas.
Authorities urged people to follow official updates and avoid unnecessary travel along the coast.
