Women Employment Scheme is at the center of Bihar’s new supplementary budget. The Nitish Kumar government has announced a massive ₹21,000 crore investment under the Women Employment Scheme, aiming to improve job opportunities and financial security for women across the state.
The supplementary budget for 2025–26 is worth ₹91,717 crore. It includes major allocations for free electricity, metro development, airports, pensions, and social welfare. The government will also fund schemes for girls’ education, drinking water, and social security pensions.
A large part of the spending will go to infrastructure. Roads, flood control systems, police buildings, and Panchayat offices will receive strong support. The budget also sets funds for industrial growth, energy companies, and stadium development.
Other key proposals include money for a new medical college, Mahadalit development, urban amenities, student credit cards, and land acquisition for urban projects. The government plans to pass the budget on December 5 after discussion in the Assembly.
