Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann received a warm welcome from the Punjabi diaspora during his visit to Seoul, South Korea. Addressing an interactive session, he said that Punjab’s pro-industry policies are already drawing new investors and urged NRIs in Seoul to act as “brand ambassadors” for their home state. Mann said Punjabis are natural entrepreneurs and should help accelerate Punjab’s industrial growth.
The Chief Minister emphasised the emotional bond NRIs share with their homeland, adding that while the government is creating an investor-friendly environment, the diaspora must now contribute to Punjab’s development. He said this would open new employment avenues for youth and strengthen Punjab’s industrial ecosystem.
Mann praised the community for preserving Punjabi culture abroad and strengthening people-to-people and business-to-business ties. He appealed to them to guide Korean companies toward Punjab as a primary investment destination, especially in sectors like manufacturing, technology, and food processing.
Highlighting policy stability, single-window clearances, and major regulatory reforms, Mann said Punjab has secured investments worth over ₹1.4 lakh crore through Invest Punjab. The diaspora expressed hope that this visit would mark a new chapter in Punjab–South Korea relations, fostering long-term economic, technological, and cultural partnerships.
