West Bengal’s voter list revision exercise has flagged over 58 lakh enumeration forms as uncollectable, raising concerns ahead of the draft roll release. The Election Commission has identified 58,17,851 forms that officials could not collect during the Special Intensive Revision process.

As per official data, voters linked to these uncollected forms will face provisional removal from the draft electoral list. The Commission clarified that this step remains temporary and subject to claims and objections.

The digitisation process has made strong progress across the state. Officials have digitised 7,06,98,649 forms out of a total of 7,66,86,658 voters. This accounts for 92.41 percent digitisation so far. The Commission has also received information from 99.99 percent of voters.

Several districts have recorded high digitisation levels. East Midnapore, Bankura, Murshidabad, Nadia, Birbhum, and South Dinajpur have achieved between 93 and 96 percent coverage.

However, Kolkata remains behind the state average. North Kolkata has recorded only 74.07 percent digitisation. South Kolkata stands slightly higher at 76.17 percent.

Sources said non-cooperation in certain pockets slowed field work. Infrastructure gaps and technical glitches also affected progress in urban areas. The Commission continues monitoring the process and has urged voters to verify their details once the draft list is published.
