Punjab Govt Jobs crossed a historic milestone as Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that over 61,000 government jobs have been provided to the youth in just four years. The achievement reflects the state government’s strong focus on merit, transparency, and fairness.
On Saturday, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann distributed appointment letters to 606 newly recruited candidates of the Education Department. The ceremony took place at Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh. The recruits included 385 Special Educator Teachers, 157 Primary Teachers, eight Principals, and 56 employees appointed on compassionate grounds.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister extended New Year greetings to the appointees. He said the Punjab Government launched Mission Rozgar in April 2022 to ensure fair employment opportunities. As a result, the government has provided 61,281 jobs so far without a single court challenge.
Furthermore, CM Mann criticised previous governments for nepotism. He said earlier administrations gave jobs to relatives and favourites. However, the current government gives jobs only to deserving and capable youth. Therefore, young people no longer need political connections to secure employment.
In addition, the Chief Minister highlighted a major reform in the education sector. The government has created a separate cadre for Special Educator Teachers. Around 48,000 children with special needs study in government schools. To support them, the state appointed 385 trained educators under this new system.
Moreover, CM Mann said teachers play a vital role in shaping the future. He urged newly appointed educators to serve with dedication and humanity. He also shared that Punjab teachers now receive international-level training in Singapore, Finland, and IIM Ahmedabad.
Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains praised the reforms. He said government schools now provide proper seating, free uniforms, and free bus services for girls. As a result, school attendance has improved significantly.
Finally, newly appointed teachers shared emotional stories. Many said their long wait for a government job had ended due to the transparent recruitment process.
