In the Union Budget 2026‑27, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a plan to build seven high‑speed rail corridors across India. These modern rail lines will help people travel faster, cut pollution, and support city growth.
Among the seven routes, three corridors will link Hyderabad with other major cities — Hyderabad–Pune, Hyderabad–Bengaluru, and Hyderabad–Chennai. These new connections aim to make travel quicker between big economic and technology hubs.
Sitharaman said the high‑speed rail system will promote environmentally friendly passenger transport by reducing travel time and lowering carbon emissions. The corridors will act as growth connectors to support balanced development across regions.
