The White House has released a joint statement on an interim trade deal between India and the United States. According to the statement, India has agreed to eliminate or reduce tariffs on many U.S. products. This move is expected to strengthen trade ties between the two countries.
India will lower duties on all U.S. industrial goods and a wide range of food and agricultural products. These include dried distillers’ grains (DDGs), red sorghum used for animal feed, tree nuts, fresh and processed fruits, soybean oil, and wine and spirits. Some additional products are also covered under the agreement.
The United States welcomed India’s decision, saying it would help American farmers and businesses get better access to the Indian market. Experts believe the deal will support economic growth and improve cooperation between the two nations. The interim agreement is seen as an important step toward a broader and more comprehensive trade partnership in the future.
