India successfully test-fired its nuclear-capable Agni-3 missile off the coast of Odisha on February 7, 2026. The missile is a long-range, surface-to-surface weapon and was launched by the Strategic Forces Command (SFC) from a mobile launcher.
The test was part of a regular training exercise to check the readiness of India’s strategic forces. Officials said the missile performed as expected and hit its target with precision. Agni-3 is an important part of India’s nuclear deterrence, as it can carry nuclear warheads over long distances.
The successful test strengthens India’s defense capabilities and shows that the country is prepared to protect its security. Such exercises also help the armed forces improve operational skills and ensure that strategic weapons are always ready if needed. The Defence Ministry said these tests are routine and do not threaten any country.
