IBM has announced plans to set up a Quantum Computing Center at the Quantum Valley Tech Park in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The facility is scheduled for inauguration by March 2026, as confirmed by IBM representative Crowder.
The center will focus on cutting-edge research, development, and innovation in quantum computing. By doing so, it aims to enhance India’s position in this fast-emerging technology field and enable the country to contribute to global scientific breakthroughs.
Currently, IBM runs similar centers in the United States, Japan, Canada, and South Korea. The Amaravati center will be the first of its kind in India, showcasing IBM’s commitment to utilizing local talent and expertise.
The project is expected to create high-tech jobs, boost research opportunities, and strengthen collaborations among academia, industry, and government in Andhra Pradesh. It marks a significant step toward building India’s quantum ecosystem and global leadership.
