Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s pedestrian safety plan promises safer roads and better facilities for people who walk. Under Nitish Kumar’s pedestrian safety plan, the government will focus on giving pedestrians proper respect and secure spaces across cities and villages.
The Chief Minister directed officials to build strong and wide footpaths in busy areas. Authorities will add zebra crossings at important junctions to help people cross safely. In crowded zones, the government will construct foot overbridges and underpasses to reduce accidents.
The transport department will identify accident-prone black spots and install CCTV cameras for better monitoring. Drivers will also receive awareness training so they follow traffic rules and respect pedestrians.
This initiative is part of the state’s broader effort to improve public infrastructure and make daily travel safer. The government believes these steps will lower road accidents and encourage more people to walk without fear.
