Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has admitted that the war with Russia has taken a toll on his family life. Speaking to Sky News, he said he is “not the best father” during wartime. He explained that he lacks time for his children because duty comes first. “My choice is Ukraine,” he said, stressing that leadership during war demands sacrifice.
Zelensky revealed that Russia launched 420 drones and 39 missiles hours before fresh talks in Geneva. The barrage included 11 ballistic missiles. Strikes hit critical infrastructure and homes across eight regions. Dozens, including children, suffered injuries, though officials have not confirmed the final count.
He described this winter as the harshest of the war. Temperatures dropped to minus 30 degrees Celsius. Power crews worked under missile fire to restore electricity. Zelensky praised civilians as “phenomenal people” for keeping systems running.
He also confirmed a call with US President Donald Trump, thanking him for supporting peace efforts. However, talks remain stalled over territory claimed by Russia. Zelensky has proposed a direct meeting with Vladimir Putin, but Moscow has resisted the idea.
