The LPG crisis in Bihar has created serious problems for households and small businesses. In many districts, people stand in queues for five to six hours to get a cooking gas cylinder. The LPG crisis in Bihar has forced many consumers to visit gas agencies early in the morning as bookings and deliveries remain delayed.
Due to the shortage, many food stalls, messes, and small restaurants have started using coal and wood stoves again. Vendors say they cannot run their kitchens smoothly without LPG, so they are turning to traditional furnaces and alternative fuels.
Demand for coal and iron stoves has also increased sharply. Local traders say coal sales have risen by nearly 300 percent in recent days as hotels and street food vendors search for other cooking options.
Authorities have warned against hoarding and black marketing of LPG cylinders. People can report such activities by calling the district helpline 0612-2219810 between 9 AM and 6 PM. Officials say strict action will be taken against anyone involved in illegal gas sales.
Long queues at gas agencies continue in several areas despite officials claiming that supply is being managed.
