The Fighter Plane Landing Strip on Bihar Roads project is moving forward as the government plans special highway sections for emergency aircraft landings. Officials confirmed that three roads in Bihar will support this plan. The Patna–Purnia Expressway is one of them.
Under the Fighter Plane Landing Strip on Bihar Roads plan, engineers will build long and straight highway stretches. Fighter jets of the Indian Air Force can land or take off from these sections during emergencies. The idea will improve national security and disaster response.
The Patna–Purnia Expressway will run for about 244 km. It will connect major districts across the state and reduce travel time between Patna and Purnia.
Several expressways in India already allow fighter jet landings. The government now wants similar facilities in Bihar. Officials believe this step will strengthen defense readiness and improve road infrastructure in the state.
