RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav strongly criticized the liquor prohibition policy in Bihar. He claimed that Sharabbandi in Bihar ₹40,000 Crore Economy has developed because of illegal liquor trade in the state.
Speaking at a public event, Yadav said the prohibition law has created a large black market instead of stopping alcohol sales. According to him, Sharabbandi in Bihar ₹40,000 Crore Economy now runs through illegal networks and liquor smuggling across the state. He argued that the policy has failed to achieve its goal of stopping alcohol supply.
Yadav also questioned the way authorities enforce the law. He claimed that police actions often target poor and marginalized communities under the prohibition law. He said lakhs of cases have been registered and many people have faced arrests since the ban started.
The opposition leader urged the government to review the policy and bring changes to ensure fair enforcement of the law.
