Muzaffarpur: A Private and Government Data Racket Busted case shocked Bihar after police arrested four people for stealing and selling sensitive data of Indian citizens. Police acted after intelligence agencies shared information about suspicious online activity.
The Private and Government Data Racket Busted operation exposed a network that collected Aadhaar numbers, PAN details, mobile numbers, vehicle records, and bank information. The gang sold this data to cybercrime groups abroad, including contacts linked to Bangladesh.
Police identified the accused as Rishabh Kumar and Sahil Kumar from Muzaffarpur, Sudhanshu Kumar from Darbhanga, and Deepak Chaudhary from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. Officers seized several mobile phones and an iPad during the raid.
Investigators said the group used fake SIM cards, Telegram tools, and online software to gather personal data. They then shared the information through encrypted channels.
Police have frozen bank accounts holding about ₹4 lakh. The investigation continues as officers search for more people linked to the racket.
