Tensions in the Middle East rose sharply as Clouds of War Over the Strait of Hormuz intensified after Iran launched missile and drone attacks on a key oil facility in the United Arab Emirates. The strike reportedly hit an oil installation near Fujairah, one of the region’s major energy hubs.
The attack triggered fires and damaged infrastructure at the facility. Authorities confirmed that several people suffered injuries, including foreign workers. The incident has increased fears of a wider conflict across the Gulf region.
The assault came amid rising naval tensions around the strategic waterway. The Clouds of War Over the Strait of Hormuz have already disrupted shipping and pushed global oil prices higher. Nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes through this narrow sea route, making any conflict there a global concern.
The United States and its allies have begun escorting commercial vessels through the strait to protect shipping. Diplomatic efforts continue, but analysts warn that further attacks could escalate the crisis and threaten global energy security.
