Nepal protests turn violent within days, showing the dramatic shift in the Himalayan nation’s politics. On September 4, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba unveiled two US-donated aircraft in Kathmandu. Just four days later, the 63-year-old leader was attacked at her own home by furious Gen Z protesters.

Videos showed mobs storming her residence, assaulting Dr. Deuba and her husband, former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. The couple escaped with minor injuries but appeared deeply shaken.

The Nepal protests turn violent after the government’s ban on social media triggered massive unrest. What started as anger over online restrictions quickly escalated into a nationwide anti-corruption movement. In a failed crackdown, 19 protesters were killed, forcing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to resign.

Outraged citizens vandalized state property, attacked politicians, and clashed with police. The Army has now taken control of Kathmandu, enforcing a strict curfew and warning against further violence.

President Ram Chandra Paudel announced he will meet protest leaders today. He urged calm and dialogue, stressing that democratic demands must be addressed through negotiations, not violence. Nepal faces its most serious political crisis in years, with public anger at its peak.
