A former Google engineer has gone viral after experiencing Blinkit, India’s 10-minute grocery delivery app. Bilawal Sidhu, who now works in artificial intelligence, wrote on X: “So India has this app called Blinkit where you can get literally anything delivered in 10 mins. My mind is blown.” His post crossed 2.4 million views within days.
The reaction online was instant. Users compared India’s lightning-fast delivery model with slower systems in the US. One user commented, “India is in the future—how do you think they did it?” Another wrote, “Everything feels so slow when you return to America.”
When asked if Blinkit delivers “literally anything,” Sidhu replied, “Yeah, pretty much! Groceries and electronic stuff too, depending on where in the city you are.” Many Indian users joined the discussion, sharing their own stories of groceries and essentials arriving in six to ten minutes.
Blinkit, founded in 2013 and based in Gurgaon, runs on a dense network of dark stores to ensure rapid deliveries. The company competes with Zepto and Swiggy Instamart in India’s booming quick-commerce sector. This model has changed how urban Indians shop, making late-night cravings and early-morning needs easier to solve in minutes.
